CoDining Tell All

Una Vida.jpg

Picture this, a candle-lit garden, warm glowing Edison bulbs hanging from one tall ancient tree to another, and a long private wooden table in the center. You came to Tulum alone but are joining a group of 15 people for a private dinner. It’s a gorgeous poolside setting in the middle of the jungle. This vision is just one example of the many CoDining experiences I have been a part of with CoWorking Tulum.

What started as a small community of friends working together has now turned into a fun and inclusive community. We work together during the day and naturally wanted to socialize in the evenings. And this is how CoDining was born.

“I can’t believe how gorgeous this place is” - A statement often given at the start of the weekly CoDining night as people walk into a new location they had never heard of. What is really unusual about Tulum is that this is one of the few places where you can't just find what you’re looking for on Google. If you were to look up places for dinner, you would likely have the same ten restaurants appear on every blog, despite the abundant options.

CoWorking Tulum finds the best places to eat and creates an experience centered around their members. It really does seem like it’s an endless culinary adventure. Almost every week, we are presented with a new option to join other members at a restaurant for CoDining. All you need to do is show up!

I’ve been a CoWorking Tulum member since their beta testing days, and I must say, CoDining is one of my favorite things about being a member. There is one held each week, sometimes two.  These evenings provide members an opportunity to connect, eat and drink without being distracted by meetings and calls. It is an opportunity to connect further with people you met during the week or new members that have just joined.

Working remotely can be lonely. I often miss the after-work social gatherings with colleagues or friends. In most cases, as a digital nomad, you are left to your own accord to instigate and organize. In the old days, you would have had to stay in a hostel to socialize more easily. I am past my hostel days and appreciate my creature comforts and my own apartment. But what these CoDining evenings enable is that social element I so much crave.

Being a part of CoWorking Tulum frees up your time worrying about how to make friends in a new city. Your social life can be taken to a whole new level! It’s not like going to a happy hour or networking event where you may never see the people you meet again. Even if I don’t exchange contact info that night, I will likely see the faces again either CoWorking or at the next member event. This creates an environment where with proximity and time with each other, relationships build more organically.

Don’t just take it from me though, here’s what other members are saying!
