You’ll have a couple of choices for where to live, either in the town or by the beach. Overall, WiFi is more reliable in el pueblo (town), whether in the centre or the surrounding neighbourhoods, Aldea Zama and la Valeta. Facebook marketplace is a popular resource when searching for apartments in these areas, but there can also be quite a few scams here so be careful not to send anyone any cash in advance. The beach is amazing if you’re planning a shorter trip and would like to stay in a hotel. Luxury Boutique resorts such as
Nomade, Be Tulum and Azulik offer classic Tulum experiences, but can be on the pricier side Most people that come to Tulum for more than 1 month stay in town as the beach can get quite expensive both with food and getting around.

Just bear in mind that if you do decide to stay somewhere nearer the beach, you’re more likely to experience dips in WiFi as it’s sometimes run on generators.
